All portraits are drawn from personal photographs. Portraits are created with an assortment of techniques using graphite (pencil). Make sure that submitted photographs show good detail in facial areas and are not out of focus.

    Be aware that images taken by professional photographers are copyrighted. In certain circumstances, I may request that a release be sent to me by mail which has been signed and dated by the photographer on his or her letterhead.

    Any portraits drawn with background scenery or larger than the specified sizes will require an additional charge agreed upon by the client and artist.
HOW TO ORDER

    Choose which size portrait you desire and how many people that you would like to appear in it. Pay particular attention to the clarity and definition of facial details in photographs. Contact Jim Cothren by phone or e-mail using the link directly below concerning details of commission. You will be notified of a start date and estimated completion date (usually within 3-4 weeks) Once arrangements have been made, mail photographs with a personal check or money order for the amount of 50% of total fee. The remaining 50% is to be paid upon completion of portrait.
